Hi all, I have a Pioneer DVR 645HS machine and I like it so far, have had it about a year and a half. Sometimes though some of the AVI files that I try to play do not work.

I have read the sticky at the top of the page and have figured out that the Pioneer does not liked packed bit stream. So have downloaded MPEG4 Modifier and removed it, however some of my AVI movies still cannot be played. I have GSPOT but honestly not sure what most of it means. I have attached a screenshot of one of the movies that I still cannot get to work. Please can you identify the problem and let me know how to fix it.

    Thanks alot for your help.

Thanks for the screenshot. That made it easy. Unfortunately, you overlooked #3 on the sticky which says that resolutions greater than 720x576 won't play. The resolution of your video is 1024x560. You will have to re-encode it and resize it to get it below 720x576 for the Pioneer to play it.

Thanks, I re-read that sticky before you posted and re-encoded with avirecomp, and removed packed bit stream with mpeg4modifier, and now it works well. I have discovered that using 652X356 will fill the screen with no horizontal black bars at top and bottom.

    Thanks for your reply post.
