I am creating an online gaming movie for school with power director 7 and i am putting a whole bunch of different clips together that I have saved on my computer but between the transitions of each clip there is a whole lot of lag and the video completely freezes for about 2 seconds and once it starts back up the next clip starts in the wrong place because it is cut short for a few seconds. Is there a way to make these transitions smoother and less laggy?? PLEASE HELP....I need an A on this!

What format are the clips? (Codecs used?) I would suspect that you didn't cut them properly on a keyframe and that may be your problem. Some highly compressed formats like Divx/Xvid only have keyframes about every 300 frames by default. And if you cut them on any other than a keyframe, you may have the problems you state.
Some editors can re-encode at just the cut point, but others may have to re-encode the whole clip to properly replace the lost frames. DV and most low loss codecs have keyframes on every frame and don't have the problem.
Or it may be a problem with your transitions if the problem only shows when the transitions were added. Not that familiar with Power Director. But others may have some better ideas.
And welcome to our forums.
