the video doesn't show, I get the audio and also from cd, when I go to youtube for example, it asks to install the flash player which I did a few times but I am still getting the same message? When i try a DVD, in WMP I am getting this error message:
I went to the dell support and installed the ATI driver but problem still exists?Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because there is a problem with digital copy protection between your dvd drive, decoder and video card. Try installing an updated driver for your video card.

Sounds like two different problems. The youtube problem will likely be in IE or flash issue. To eliminate IE, you could try using Firefox.
The DVD playback issue could be several things as noted in the error. I assume you have tried more than one DVD?Google is your Friend -
sounds about right, 2 separate issues, first issue, yes, youtube works fine in firefox but not in IE, solution?
2nd issue, no matter which dvd I put into the unit I get the same error message mentioned in my first post BUT I get to see the first 5 seconds of a certain dvd every time I put it in the tray before the same error message appears? -
did u try a different dvd software player? like VLC media player
BIOS update may help too -
did u update the flash player for IE like Krispy Kritter said

As my original post states, I did so a "few" times! On the Youtube page on the error message itself it hyperlinks straight to Adobe flash player 10 download.

I just looked at the installed programs in the control panel in Programs and Features and it shows Adobe flash player 10 "plugin", is this correct?

if you go to this site http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
then download the Windows Flash Player 9 ActiveX control content debugger (for IE) (EXE, 1.22 MB) run the installation & it will put this missing registry item in.
then the youtube videos should work with IE7
NOTE: When i ran the installation i ran into an error but i chose to ignore it and let it run anyway. Also if you run a registry cleaner program make sure you exclude (so it does not strip this reference) {D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000} otherwise you will have to re-install the above or manually put them back in. -
Trying yours right now, found this in my search but I am not sure it's wise for me to run the scan?

Got it done, according to your link, I ran into the same error message the guy was talking about but on my end it would not complete so I simply searched the net for the standalone flash player, installed it and now it works fine so I was hinting on the right track that the Adobe download' "plugin" as referred to earlier was not working, thanks for the help again guys!
