I just got a Hollywood DV-Bridge and added it to my P2-450MHz 128MB RAM box. I thought that the hardware video encoding of the Dazzle would prevent frame dropping problems that software encoders would present with my "old" computer. I can capture video without errors, but the result is an avi that is VERY choppy. (I guess it is dropping lots of frames?)
My primary interest is in turning TV programs into VCD/SVCD's.
1) Would the Dazzle DVC II be a better choice so that I don't have to convert DV to VCD/MPEG format?
2) Would adding more RAM solve my choppy problem?
Thanks!
