Hiya!
I have this issue. When I run MediaInfo on the .VOB parts (which contains the selected PGC) I get a wide spread audio sync flag. Approx 100-200ms on the first two .VOB files, then almost -500ms on the third, etc. When I load the PGC in PGCDemux and hit "Check a/v delay", it just tells me "Audio #1: -40ms". What is this? Can't even be an average value, now can it? Also, when demuxing, I seem to get a non-concurrent sync in the output file, regardless of whether I chose output as one-file .VOB, or splitted .mpv / .ac3.
Is there an easy way to solve this?

That should be all you need, assuming you decrypted the DVD to the hard drive correctly (maybe a big assumption). The fact that each VOB by itself has a different and often larger delay means nothing. If you do the encoding properly (encode the whole thing at once, and not all the VOBs separately), those different delay values never come into play. When I load the PGC in PGCDemux and hit "Check a/v delay", it just tells me "Audio #1: -40ms".
That's the delay for the beginning of the audio against the beginning of the video. What is this?
I didn't quite understand that. Are you saying the output audio/video is out of synch, and the amount it's out of synch varies in different parts of the video? If so, that may point to improper decryption, if this is a newer movie on a DVD with newer copy protection. But you didn't mention exactly how you're getting the DVD to the hard drive. It could also be a product of your conversion program. But you didn't say what you're using.I seem to get a non-concurrent sync in the output file, regardless of whether I chose output as one-file .VOB, or splitted .mpv / .ac3. -
Well. The "DVD" is actually just something I recorded from cable-television, using a stand-alone DVD recorder. After recording the tv-show to the recorder's hdd, I wrote it on a DVD+RW. Then I put the disc in my computer, started PGCDemux.
"I seem to get a non-concurrent sync in the output file, regardless of whether I chose output as one-file .VOB, or splitted .mpv / .ac3."
What I ment was that regardless of choosing output as one-large-.VOB, or demuxed audio.ac3 / videofile.mpv, I seem to get a (yeah, the way you guessed my vague description) non-concurrent sync. Not 100% sure though, could be just my imagination, due to setting different values for audio sync in VDubmod.
You see, take the proper demux for instance. Instantly after demux, I do 'azid -a audio.ac3 audio.wav' (to get gained pcm to work with). Then I load the videofile.mpv in VDubmod, and audio.wav as for external audio track). I encode w/ xvid/lame. However, PGCDemux gave me "-40ms" for delay, but the encoding in VDubmod doesn't get an at least sooomewhat proper sync without setting the audio delay to around -200ms in VDubmod, why is this?
Actually, my recorder could have done some protection on the disc. After this mishaps with PGCDemux, I thought I'd try it another way (DVDShrink/Reauthor/No compression/one-huge-.VOB). However, I couldn't seem to load the disc in DVDShrink. It told me there was some protection. Invalid CSS-key, whatever. Could this have messed up the sync? The video/audio itself was not at all messy (besides from the bad sync) when demuxing through PGCDemux.Drop dead gorgeous! -
They're captures, eh? You might have mentioned that at the beginning. I know there are ways to fix caps, but since I've never capped anything in my life, someone else will have to help. Sorry.
