Hi, I 've got the Panasonic SDR-S7. I like it's 16:9 resolution, but I am a bit confused with its (camera's) resolutions. What is the original resolution for 16:9? 768x432? I 'd like to know which resolution to use in order to convert the clips to avi. I open original .MOD files with MediaInfo and it says 704x576(16/9). When I place the clips on divx converter it says 720x400. Is it standard for 16:9 clips their width to be 1.77x their height? Please if you know what is the native resolution of both 4:3 and 16:9 so as to use these on conversion without upscaling or downscaling. TV system of my camera is PAL. Also this camera demonstrates "DVD Quality recording". Thanks.

dvd widescreen uses non--square pixels to make use of the 704x576 recorded size. multiply 576 by 16 and divide by 9 to get the equivalent size in square pixels. or 1024x576.
