This is a dumb question but I'll ask it anyway. I'm backing up my digital video tapes but capturing them in full quality using Digital Video Studio. Each tape is captured to my hard drive in <= 18-minute segments (W98SE limitation) in AVI format. I then recombine the segments from a tape into a single "movie" which I then rendered and record back to a blank DV tape through my digital video camera (Sony TRV-320). My question is, should I (or will I) see any degradation of video quality on a backup tape made in this manner versus the original tape?
