  1. I have a Sanford and Sons tape that I had backup to a dvd disc, however, I noticed several things with the movie. The Sanford and Sons introduction song and actors speeds up intermittently. It seems like the video and actors were out of sync.

What method did you use to convert it to DVD? Capture card or DVD recorder?

What are you using to play it back with? Does it do the same on a DVD player and a computer software player? Try VLC Media Player. It can compensate for some video problems.

What DVD media did you use? It's possible there are dropouts on the disc and the player is having a problem reading it.

If it was a commercial tape, it probably has Macrovision encryption, but that shouldn't cause those sort of problems.

  3. Hi! Redwudz: The method that were used are: Pinnacle Studio 11 Plus hooked up to a Moviebox, that is connected to a Panasonic NV-HV61 Vhs player, all those are connected to my computer. I've been using this setup for almost 15 yrs.
I'm using memorex, however, I never had a problem with memorex media before. I downloaded the movie and no frames were dropped in the process. With this method, Macrovision will never be a problem. I had copy vhs tapes to dvd before and never had this problem.
My capture card is the Ati 9200. What I meant was the actors walk very fast intermittenly and their voice speeds up.

  4. Do you still have the file on your PC?
If so does it play ok?
If so then the problem is encoding,Pinnacle Studio isn't the best so I would try another program such as TDA.

  5. I tried an analog to digital pass through with the vcr and my sony digital camcorder. The video was very stable and problem disappeared. The actors walk normally and their spoken voice was in sync.
