I can't encode a xvid with mp3 audio. The file seems to be corrupted.
Nothing can play it and MediaInfo doesn't see it as a valid video file.
I already had this problem with other recent versions. I'm running on AMD Athlon XP200+ with sse only.

What is version 0.5 supposed to mean? I'm used to SVN-rXXXXX

It has been a very long time since we last made a release and many did not think we would make one again but, back by popular demand, we are proud to announce a new release: FFmpeg 0.5. Check out the release notes and changelog.

It is codenamed "half-way to world domination A.K.A. the belligerent blue bike shed" to give an idea where we stand in the grand scheme of things and to commemorate the many fruitful discussions we had during its development.

This release includes a very extensive number of changes, but some of the highlights are... (way to many to quote here)

That ffmpeg build is apparently compiled by kurtnoise. He post alot at doom9. If you have problems with his compilation you should probably post a thread there as I don't think he visits videohelp much ...although I can't imagine why

Ah, now I understand!
Seems to be nothing more then the latest SVN releases from others which also suffer on the same bugs.
