    Hello all,
I haven't spent much time here but I know that there are a lot of pro's and top knotch Video Guys here. I just finished my first ever film using Sony Vegas and a Sony HDR CX 12 Camcorder. I know that it's not perfect but I would love to hear what some of you guys think about it.

    Thank you and best regards,

The shrill intro music is killing my ears.

Sometimes the camera work makes me nauseated. I don't like that style, I won't watch tv or movies that do that either.

Congrats on the first production. Keep it up.

tool has a couple songs about that sort of thing, perhaps you should use them as your theme music.

just watched the video..must agree the music at the beginning is a big turn off as well as overuse of video fx that distract from the point you are making.

    also, steadicam!

also, you forgot the part where he becomes the star child and floats back to earth.

You can buy someone the best set of clubs, but that don't make them a good golfer. Impressive effects and use of them, but in my opinion, no direction or flow to follow for me that was enjoyable. Keep trying, great program. Keep it shorter and add a ton of substance and you may get lucky with a hit on Youtube, lol.

Me too. I use headphones so I just thought it was just my headphones and not the video itself.

I too use Vegas Pro 8. I thought some parts were very good. I agree with most of the other members, you need to keep the camera steady and reduce the number of zooms.

I actually liked how you used the music. Who is the artist/composer at 5:30 and 10:01, Howard Shore?

Do not use automatic iris -- ever. Pans and tilts must be slower and smoother. Shaky camera implies unrehearsed action and usually gets in the way of the telling of the story.

My opinion is that your telling of Matthew 6:24 was too long. The Circuit City guy sequence was fine. The time passes old man sequence probably wasn't necessary. Was the guy who opened the door for the old man an intentional part of the cast? The labels were too long. This is a good first, not fist, effort.
