Bought a Sony HDR SR7 and it has recently been ruining my attempts to capture videos of my new infant daughter. This is terrible. The images I am shooting are shakey on the LCD screen and on the actual video itself. Sometimes it just looks like water ripple. The problem is only intermittent but it is happening at the worse times....ruining my videos. I called Sony and they had me do the basics (remove battery, hit reset, etc...) Still no joy. They want $450 to trouble shoot it and fix it. If I send it in I'm sure I'm gonna miss my daughters first steps, "da-da", etc.

Any suggestions or solutions other than spending 1/2 the price ($450) of the Handycam new to send it in to Sony. Yes, it is less than 1 yr out of warranty.

    Thanks, Jayson

Night Mode (or Sony's equivalent of "Low light" shooting) has the same undesired effect on my Canon.

I tried turning off the steadyshot.....So far so good. However, the problem is intermittent. I hope this works. I'll get back to you if anything changes. Thanks or the advice.
