Hi folks
I wasn't sure where to place this question but i hope this is the right forum for it.
I have a Dreambox with a internal HDD, the dreambox is capable of playing .TS and MPEG2 files with it's internal movie player. UNfortunatly the plugin for DVD doesn't work properly for some reason, sound and video get out of sync wich is rather disturbing.
So what i am looking for is a way to rip my DVD's and convert them to ONE large MPEG2 file that contains video, sound and menus if this is at all possible.
I know that a VOB file is in essential a MPEG2 file and if i rename it it works on the dreambox but i still need to merge the 4-5 VOB files in to one large and keep sound and menus if possible.
Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

You can't keep the menus in a single vob or mpg file.
You can use dvd decrypter to rip to ONE vob file. Or use dvdfab decrypter and rip to your hdd and merge the main movie vobs to one using vobmerge. -
Hi Baldrick and thnx for your quick reply.
Ok those seems like working solutions, however loosing the menus will make me loose the subtitles aswell or is there options to maintain that ?

Yep, you will lose the subs.
I would try find a solution for the dvd plugin. Search or ask in http://www.dreambox.se/modules.php?name=Forums -
If you rip to a single VOB file you can keep multiple audio tracks and subtitles, however you will have to use the subtitle and audio buttons on your remote to change them, as you will have no menu.
If you convert to an MPG file then you will lose most of these features.Read my blog here.

Ok so if i rip the DVD in to 1 single large .VOB file it can maintain the subtitles and menus, that's 1 step done.
I understand that if i then convert it to a MPEG2 file i loose those feature, but what if i convert it to a .TS file.
Can the .TS file maintain the subtitles or can i add subtitles to a .TS file.
I tryed to rip a DVD qith VideoReDO and it works to play on my dreambox and it also maintains the quality allot better then a AVI or similar conversion. However i did ofc lose the subtitles and menus when converting 4 VOB files straight off to a .TS file.
