verbatim DVD

I've got this verbatim DVD+R with the media code MCC-004-00
is this considered good quality media?


also, on closer inspection, I'm seeing rings on the data surface of the blank disc, is this normal?

I use them all the time. Supposedly MIT (made in Taiwan) , by CMC or Prodisc to Mitsubishi specs using Mitsubishi dye. And made in India now too, I suppose, but they're decent. Have a look:

Verbatim is considered by many to be excellent media.

However, there are different kinds of Verbatim:

- Made in Singapore and Taiwan are great. Avoid the India discs.

- Hold the disc up the the light and look at the first four digits printed around the hub. You would rather see PAPA than PAP6. Some people complain about the PAP6 discs. Both PAPA and PAP6 are CMC. If the hub code has a "+" in the middle it is made by Prodisc.



Rings on the data surface are not normal. Verbatim should be a solid purple.

Rings ARE NORMAL, after burning, if burning 8x or faster. Those are zonal burning rings.

Verbatim is generally the best disc you can buy.

These MCC discs made by Prodisc, are they any good?
