    I have a video file that has a video bitrate of 32k but yet the Nominal bitrate is listed at 4294967295 - what causes this?

    what application says that? THe video bitrate sounds too low and the "nominal bitrate" is definite wrong.

    Meidainfo - and yes the video bitrate is low on purpose though

    Try Gspot instead. You probably have VBR (Variable Bit Rate) video. When it's created there is a low, average and high bitrate setting specified. Your 'Nominal' bitrate may be the average bitrate, but possibly misread or displayed incorrectly in MediaInfo.

    I'm actually on a mac and I dont believe that gspot has a OS x version

    That's a good reason to fill out your computer details so we have a clue about what OS you are using. I don't know off-hand of a Mac equivalent program. Maybe VideoSpec. And when they ported MediaInfo to the Mac, there may have been errors.
