  1. Just got a few queries.

When u have edited the movie, and u make avi out of it so u can edit it to tmpgenc, it asks for codec to use.

    Which one do you use?

    BTW, these were the list

    Cinepak Codec by Radius
    DV Video Encoder
    Indeo Video 5.10
    Intel Indeo (R) Video R3.2
    Intel Indeo Video 4.5

Of course there were on option there so display all other codecs installed in my machine but I didnt want to use DIVX as it decreases the quality. I already tried it before so I know.

But now, when i opened up tmpgenc, it says avi file is unsupported :( :( What is wrong?

Here is the details of the file i have encoded

    Size: 3.50GB
    Image
    Width: 320 pixels
    Height: 240 pixels

    Audio
    Duration: 1:12:02
    Bit Rate: 1411 kbps
    Audio Sample Size: 16 bit
    Audio Format: PCM

    Video
    Frame rate: 29 frames/sec
    Video Sample Size: 24 bit
    Video Compression: Indeo Video 5

    Thanks

do not worry about .avi because you can select to export as vcd or svcd
you select from the left hand list MPEG then click on setting and then you can choose vcd or svcd. Voila

  3. Except of course that Studio 7's VCD & SVCD encodings are perhaps the worst I've seen - really sh*t.

Exporting back to MJPEG seems to crash more often than not, I'm currently exporting to the DV codec as it seems the best compromise, and doesn't crash (much).

I'm looking for a better solution.

  4. i agree with obi, if their VCD or SVCD feature is good, then I wouldnt bother exporting it to avi, but the quality is sh!t.

Hey, if u export using DV codec, in audio settingm u can onky select 32 or 48 HZ and i think tmpgenc only accepts 44.1 so how do you work around with it?

  5. This program is crap! I am waiting for Pinnacle to fix it but I planned to export with AVI format. Now someones says you can't do that. How can they get away with this? I upgraded to Studio 7 for $50 since I had the DC10+ but I already took that card out. A waste of $50 I guess. Live and learn.
