Hi everybody.I'm new to this forum and I just want to ask a question.
I recently started using DVD-lab PRO2 and I tried to make a dvd with a 700Mb Movie that I downloaded over the Internet. Anyway...I followed the instructions step by step here: http://www.digital-digest.com/articles/AVI_to_DVD_Compliant_MPEG2_QuEnc_Guide_page1.html to demux the .avi file. I imported the video and audio in DLP, then I added the subtitles( English, French, Spanish) and I created the menu. The problem is that after compiling all this and burning it to an iso, I get a DVD that has audio in the menu but there is no audio when playing the movie .
Plz I really need your help.
    Thank you!

Hmmm.... Do you really need subtitles in three languages for home/personal viewing? Do you need fancy menus with audio just to watch the INTERNET DOWNLOADED movie?

Correct me if I am wrong, but you sure sound like a bootlegger. If that is the case, then you can forget it.

    Of course no.........
I'm just lebanese and here in lebanon we speak 3 basic languages: Englis ,French and Arabic. But I speak a bit of spanish too. But what will it change if I remove them??
    It's just for PERSONAL use!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(Btw...who told that the downloaded movie was copyrighted???)

There are many possible causes. Have you tried playing the finished audio file separately, before importing into DLP2?

Do you have audio on the menus ?

Is the format of the audio on the menus the same as the format of the audio on the title that is silent ? .e.g are they both AC3, or is one AC3 and the PCM ?

Can you hear anything if you just play back the audio stream in isolation ?
    Read my blog here.

    Ok.....I'll answer everybody alone:
@ntscuser:Yes I have tried playing the AC3 audio file(of the movie) with Media Player Classic and it does work.(It doesn't work in Windows Media Player,if this can help)

@guns1inger:Yes as I said before,I have an AC3 audio in the menu and it works.Yes the format of the audio in the menu and in the movie is the same, they are both AC3.And I tried playing the audio file seperatly and everything seems ok.

How did you convert the audio? using quenc? I would use latest aften together with a GUI like encwavtoac3.

@Baldrick: No, I didn't use QuEnc to convert the audio. I used AftenGUI with BeLight.

I could be completely on the wrong track here but I believe BeLight is a GUI for BeSweet whose own version of AC-3 was not fully compatible with DVD video, at least when I last tried it? (My knowledge of standalone AC-3 encoding is severely limited as I normally use the TMPGEnc plugin which is integrated into the DLP2 shell).

@ntscuser: Yes, Belight is a GUI for BeSweet. I don't think that the problem comes from Aften or BeLight because:
-The audio file is working when playing it with Media Player Classic.
-The audio of the menu that I encoded using the same softwares and procedure is fully working.
But thank you for your answer!

I know this may be a stretch, but I've had this happen to me a couple of times.

When I get my video, audio, and subtitle assets all put in how I like, then I decide to cut the length of the video. Whenever that happens, DVD Lab Pro removes all the assets and you have to put them back in.

While I currently use Sony Vegas for AC3 encoding, I've used BeSweet before and never had a problem with compatibility.

Also, you didn't say whether the subtitles worked or not. If they don't work either, there may be some compiling problem. If the subtitles work, then there is clearly a problem with the audio only.

Try a few variations to isolate what may affect the audio.
