hello all. i have many mkvs that wont fit on a dvd5 or a dvd9 because they are liek 100 megs to big. ive tried using mkvmerge and cutting credits off, but no go. im new to all of this so please bear with me. i tried demuxing, and this is what i got.( if i even did it right) i opened up a mkv in mkvmerge, selected the audio track only, which is dts and hit start muxing. i guess first i named it igor.mp3. the extracted file was 957 megs. so what do i need to decode it to dolby digital, and then how do i put it back in with the video file.

Use Ripbot264, load your mkv, let it demux and then select the file size, or audio track you want, and you're pretty much done.

I don't see what this has to do with any blu-ray authoring(mkv is not blu-ray...). Moving you to the general forum.
