    Hi,

I have only used Windows Movie Maker to capture before. But I now learn that it results in loss of quality.

I would like to use VirtualDub.

Can someone kindly tell me if this is the correct way

If you are capturing from a DV camera then use WinDV. Small, simple, good.

You can use Windows Movie Maker to capture without quality loss so long as you capture to DV AVI, and not WMV. Also, do not apply any effects in WMM, as it resizes internally to 640 x 480 for much of it's processing, apparently.
