Hey,
I hope someone can help me...
I had recorded an episode of deadliest catch on discovery channel HD with my tv-tuner and DVBViewer...
I had done conversions before but now i have problems![]()
My system is Windows 7 because it converts almost 2x faster than vista on SD content and like 1,5x faster on HD content than Vista...
I had done the following:
I had edited the original ts file with h264_cutter v111 ... and gets a ts file without commercials...
Now i want to encode the ts file to mkv and the codec would be x264 for best quality...
The ts file is 43 min and 33 sec long and around 5,2 gb...
I had before used DGAVCindex to index theses HDTV ts files but i have problem indexing this file... the program crashes at the same point every time... I had this problem once before on Vista...
So when i can't index the file and do a dga-file, I then makes a avs script and uses Directshow to import the ts file and do a resize from 1920x1080 to 1280x720... and that also works fine when i opens it in Megui (latest version)...
I select a HD x264 balanced profile and container mkv... then i select tools and bitrate calculator and i want a filesize of 1,1 gb (970mb video and 130mb audio) so i can have 4 episodes in 720p on 1 dvd... so i select the filesize and let megui adjust the settings...
Then for a safety reason i check that megui had adjusted the bitrate under profile configure and that looks as it should and the bitrate is calculated to ~3000 kbps which the bitrate calculator also said (I'm only encoding the video because i will later mux the video and the original ac3 5.1 audio track and subtitles with mkvmerge)...
Then i click enqueue and then goes to the menu Queue and click start...
The encoding starts with the 1pass... after ~35 minutes the 1 pass is done...
The the encoder starts on the 2pass.. and it starts showing what the filesize would be....
!!BUT HERE IS THE PROBLEM!!
The filesize is not the 970 mb as the video should be... instead it is 1,9 gb ....? what is wrong? i had tried so many different combination but i just can't get it to work...
However I can do the same thing on vista and it does make a 970 mb file...
If i select the encoder to only do 1pass the filesize is 970mb. ...
Does anyone know what is wrong ? i really how that someone can help with this since i have a lot HDTV episodes to convert...
