    Hi....

Got this DVD burner that has lightscribe, the thing is, it only prints in Mono, on lightscribe dvds.

My printer is an HP Photoshop, but the dvd/cd Holder is missing.

so...., what other ways are there to put a color label on a disk, other then pealoff labels you print out. Is there some other technology im not aware of? Thank you

  2. Find or buy the missing DVD/CD tray, and print directly to printable media.
Least I think that's your least expensive route

The only options are Lightscribe, printable media, or labels. And labels are NOT recommended...at least not if you want to use the discs in the future.

I know nothing about your printer, but it's sometimes possible to buy CD/DVD trays for printers on Ebay. Of course, that assumes that your printer truly supports this function and you simply don't have a tray. Some HP printers don't support this function.

I got into Lightscribe a few years ago because at that time (it is NOT true now - I want to be very clear on this - I am talking about the past here) the very few printers that could print to discs cost about $300 US. I used Lightscribe for years and while I sometimes did get good results, on the whole I'm down on the format. I now print only to Taiyo Yuden Watershield discs and they really cannot be beat. I don't recommend Lightscribe.
