This might actually be more of a computer tech issue, but I notice when clicking on the comments page of a video, i.e. the max number of comments without the video itself, why is it such a CPU-hog for them to fully load? You know what I'm talking about? Even long after the download activity has quit, my 2.4 gig CPU - not cutting edge but not anemic either is showing 100% usage for 30 secs or so and you can't do anything with the page until whatever is going on is finished. Even watching vids in &fmt=18 mode doesn't draw that much CPU usage.

Good question. I have the exact same problem. I wish this problem could be fixed. I like viewing comments without the video because when you view comments with video, the comments are not in the correct order so you don't know who is replying to who.

I'm guessing either you have a Javascript blocker that's turned on (maybe a firefox add-on) or your flash player needs reinstallation.
Besides, Youtube comments are troll haven. -

I mostly use IE, how would I see if I have a Javascript blocker? -
I know nothing about IE anymore. Switched to Firefox around 4 years ago. There might be a security setting where your security levels are too high - a checkbox where Javascript is set.
Another thing is if you have a spyware checker installed. That will definitely do battle with what it thinks is a bad web page. Spybot S&D is pretty good, but the Symantec/Norton stuff is worse than having spyware on your system.
Finally, download the Portable version of the Google Chrome browser. It won't make any registry modifications to your system and you can see if YT is still causing the high CPU problems.
