    I'm at a loss on this one. And I don't know if it's related at all, but Firefox has been closing unexpectedly throughout the day. It's usually rock solid. Scanned for malware and viruses, checked system temperatures, etc. Weird.

  2. you're right, firefox doesn't crash much if at all. sounds like a hardware problem. i'd start with the ram. maybe remove, clean the connection pins and swap places in the motherboard. if it still happens try a ram checking program.

    Edit: Finally got fed up with the crashes and ran Memtest86 from a bootable CD. The program found a bad RAM stick in 2 minutes. Thanks minidv2dvd
