I'm not really a video guy, so I'm not sure where this would best go.
Here's my issue - I have a 16x9 video shot on green screen that I ultimately want to convert to flash video format with embedded alpha channel. However, the 16x9 format contains a lot of green screen that I do not want, and the size of the video is too processor intensive for most computers.
What I want to do is chop off the entire right half of the video so that it is no longer 16x9, it's now 8x9. I then want to take this 8x9 video and export it as an 8x9 quicktime with the alpha channel embedded.
Any ideas on how I can chop off that half of the video? I don't want to just mask it - I want to lose it entirely. And I would prefer it if I could export it at that aspect ratio without it being resized to a standard format (4x3 or 16x9).
Thanks for any help -
Moge

almost all editors have a cropping tool you can use to select the portion of the video you want to save. try the manual or search for cropping with your editor. re-encode it to the new size(you might have to make it a multiple of 4, 8 or 16 pixels depending on the codec). avidemux has a cropping tool(click video/filters) if you don't have an editor.
