Sorry is this is an inappropriate post here

I recently bought this camera and would like to use the movie mode occasionally but find it to be too jittery when shooting moving images or panning.
I am saving to a sandisk extreme111 card and have tried all quality settings I can without overcoming the problem.
Would imovie help to smooth it out ?
Any other suggestions gratefully received.
