Trouble with playback of 8 mm of broken camcorder’s tapes
Hi to everybody
My 8mm camcorder is broken. This will be the only one choice that I have to playback the tapes. I do not know if there is any videotape adapter for 8 mm tapes. So, I do not know what to do. I was looking in all video electronics stores for any kind of 8 mm camcorders but nowhere is still available( now the stores are selling DV camcorders). Any suggestion?
Thanks a lot

Pawn shop, E-Bay, freinds, speciality camera shops, flea markets....
What was the make and model of the one that you have that is broken? An exact replacement is where I would start just in case there are issues with play back (A possibility) There are also stand alone decks for 8mm/digital-8 but these are traditionally expensive for what you are getting.
8mm/digital-8 is not so far out of date that folks wont still have equipment to sell, rent or loan, it is just a matter of finding it.
Good luckIS IT SUPPOSED TO SMOKE LIKE THAT? -
The camcorder is broken, so is an electrical problem. I tried the flea markets, and I did not found anything. EBay is not worthy because is not sure, if the camcorder is in working conditions (can be broken, who knows).Originally Posted by ZAPPER

first, look at the ebay seller's feedback
then look at the bottom of the ebay auctions
you'll see they usually offer to refund your $ if you're not satisfied
using paypal will help protect you...I guess you don't have a choice anymore at ebay
point is, you're not buying a house...just a used cam
don't like ebay period? try the pawn shops for a hands on experience & take a tape with you to make sure it plays -
Get your existing 8mm tapes transfered to dvd, and move on. Get a digital hdd/dvd recording camcorder and forget 8mm after you've transfered them over.
