Apologizes if this question has already been posted,
I have shot some footage on a Sony Z1 using normal Sony mini DV tape, however there are two recording options HD or Non HD. We recorded in HD.
I now want to look at the footage, then load it into the computer, my question is this, can I play a mini DV tape which recorded HD on a NON HD camcorder, I know I want get the full HD quality, I will need a HD camcorder for that, but can I still play the tape, without ruining it?

nope - not a chance of playing HDV in a miniDV only cam. you'll need another HDV cam or deck to play them. you wouldn't ruin them, they just won't play at all.
