  1. I have many videos that I have saved as .MKV on my computer, which I use as a HTPC. The files play fine, but I am wondering if there are better file formats or containers for high definition content. The reason I ask is because in the future I may look to make these files available on my Xbox 360, and as far as I am aware the .MKV file format is not supported. The Xbox idea is still a maybe, so if .MKV is the better format I will leave the files as they are.

    Any comments are welcome.
    Thx in Advance!!

For the 360 you can use DIVX natively but not through WMC. You would need to stream them to the xbox media blade (actually I'm not sure they are called blades anymore after the new XBOX update from this week ).

However you can use TVERSITY to stream just about any type of media to a xbox 360 or a ps3.

FYI Divx is not supported natively in Windows Media Center if you were planning on doing that. However WMV is supported.
