    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-Wd-Q3F8KM

it downloads as an flv file but it only plays the audio, i have the latest version of perian..i'm wondering if it might be a conflict with another QT plug-in...

Plays fine on Leopard 10.5.5, QT 7.5.5, with Perian 1.1.1. natively on site
Also tested with Tiger 10.4.11, QT 7.4.5 and Perian 1.1.1. natively in QT when downloaded.

MediaInfo Mac says the FLV has H.264 video and AAC audio.
VLC plays the file with video and audio.

That's odd, Case. My MediaInfo Mac (7.7.58) says that "flv" has AVC
    video and AAC LC audio.

Yes, VLC will play it. I haven't found any "export" settings that work.

Unlike every other flv of my acquaintance, neither iSquint nor its
big brother VisualHub will touch it. MPEG Streamclip is like QT. No
video. FfmpegX doesn't recognize it. Curious.

Excuse my paraphrasing; AVC = H.264.

  7. Hello,

ffmpeg well handles "Flash 10" vidéos since the beginning of this summer (but not yet Perian and others softs, mine too, my ffmpeg build is too old)
VLC is a new release so it handle it
wait for software updates and you manage to play with it later

    bye

In both cases, on both machines, I have Adobe's Flash Video Encoder
software installed, newest version. Could that be why I'm seeing different
from you guys? Also have newest Flash and Shockwave installed in
    Safari browsers as well.

yes, the only problem is the parser (in ffmpeg terminology)
a "decoder" need a parser (to identify contents)
    a demuxer (to isolate streams)
a decoder (no pb with this part, x264 and audio are standards)

when softs will be update, they will recognize this "new wrapper" (and could display it)

PS: if I well remember, the flash plug-ins 9 (or 9 beta?) handles h264 vidéos (no real need to upgrade to the last one to see videos in browsers)
I have no pb at home to see them in web browers.
