Hi guys I have Divx DVD player. I have Xvid files, so I use Nic's FourCC Changer to convert them to Divx rather than re-ecoding them. My issue is when I convert the file, it outputs to Divx 4.0 format. I have the latest Divx codec.. It plays fine one the dvd play I was just wondering why its doing that.. Is it something to do with the Nic's FourCC Changer program?

Isn't there a DX50 choice, or something to that effect when you choose the 4CC ?

    Try this app?

    http://www.free-codecs.com/AVI_FourCC_Code_Changer_download.htm

If you look here, DivX5 is supposed to be DX50 http://abcavi.kibi.ru/fourcc.php?fcc=DX50&title=DX50+-+DivX+5.0+codec

You have to manually type it in (and it's case sensitive)

  5. In my experience the divx 5 and 6 encoders use "divx" on the top, "DX50" on the bottom:

And yes, you have to type them in because they aren't included in the pulldowns (that utility is very old).
