    Hello,

I have a video file that I would like to remove segments of (audio and video) if the audio is below a certain level. Is this possible?

Essentially what i want to do is remove low audio/video segments from the final file and get back a file that contains just audio/video at a certain threshold as a single video file.

I can't think of a way automatically to do that. I guess you could put the file on a timeline, look for the low volume sections and chop accordingly.

Have you thought about going the other way and lifting the low level audio - there are many plug ins and built in compressors and dynamic range devices available for CoolEdit Pro or Audition or Wavelab etc. Maybe the sound is just unintelligible and then yes cutting it out is probably the way to go. There are 'downward expanders' available for the above programs that can be set that will take the audio to "minus" infinity if it drops below a preset level. But my guess is it would be better to do the whole thing by ear and eye!
