I was curious if there are file size limits for capturing. I would like to capture in AVI using VDUB. My goal is to capture a full hockey game (roughly 3 hours long) and then compress to MPEG2 SVCD compliant file, then cutting the file to get 1 period per SVCD.
I was thinking about getting a 80GB HDD dedicated for capturing. I'm using XP and will format the HDD in NTFS format. Is there any size restriction that the AVI file might have? I know with FAT32 there is a 4GB size limit for a file.
Currently I'm capturing in MPEG1 VCD compliant using the options suggested in the capture FAQ for the AIW using MMC7.5 and I'm not too happy with the quality.
I'd appreciate any suggestions, or a point in the right direction. Thanks
Vlad

An 80 gig drive will give you about 6-7 hours of capture at 640x480 using huffuv codec and about 15 hours using picvideo codec at the same 640x480, both will give exellent results and no file limit problems using ntfs.
