    Hi guys!

I have several video chapters and I need to show a "Title Screen/Separator Screen" before each chapter begins.

This separator will run for 2-3 seconds and then the chapter will play. I might need some type of "Transition" before and after each separator.

For this project I am using Adobe Encore CS4 (but I also have Premiere CS4 if anyone would suggest to use it).

Ideally the separators will be created with Illustrator/Photoshop to show some text with or without any art on them.

Can anyone help on how to do this?

If I create this separators in Photoshop, how big should it be(MB?)? What dimmensions should it have (pixels?)? Any other consideration I should have? Whattype of file should the separator be (JPG, GIF, PNG, TIFF, ETC)?

Once I have the separators created and imported on Encore. Do I create a slide show for each and then interlace them with their chapters?

Thanks so much for your help!

First, there is a difference between video editing and DVD authoring, and you are blurring those lines, trying to edit with authoring software. There are many ways to accomplish what you want, but the process can get very complicated very fast. You do not indicate the format of your "video chapters." I am guessing it is VOB/Mpeg2 from an existing DVD. If that is the case, you can split up each chapter using mpeg2cut2, then reauthor with separate menus using Photoshop or other bitmap image editor for the graphics, and then Encore for navigation between chapters and final DVD mastering. Check Encore's instructions on whether your menus should be 720 x 480 or 640 x 480.
