Maybe this has been asked already (search is offline) but what capacities will be available in the future for DVD-R? Will it be possible to burn using current DVD-R writers such as Pioneer A03?

As far as I know, yes. Yet it is the DVD+R that they are having trouble with. Most current DVD+RW drives will not be able to record to DVD+R discs because of weak laser wavelength and the die needed for the DVD+R technology. So I feel for people who ran right out and bought a DVD+RW drive. Maybe they will offer upgrade kits.
