    Hi,

I have a couple of mpgs, both encoded with wrong aspect ratio.

The original is 4:3, but the image of the encoded mpeg is distorted, with the figures elongated horizontally, and with the black bars of a letterboxed video, as if the original were 16:9.

I have them demuxed and loaded in ReStream, because I remembered having fixed some aspect ratio issue with that program. But Restream said that the aspect ratio was already 4:3.

I would appreciate some help. Thank you in advance.

If the mpgs have black bars you must crop and reconvert. It wont help to just change the display aspect ratio then.

    Thanks for answering.

    Two questions, please:

Which program could I use to crop and reconvert?

Is there an automatic way? I mean, could I choose a "reconvert to 4:3" option or should I croping at a guess, searching with my eyes the real 4:3 aspect ratio?

As I said, now the display aspect ratio is 4:3 and the resolution 480 x 576, but the image is a wrong 16:9.
