I have been using my Playstation 2 (With Fliptop) to play all my DVD's I have made for most of my Anime...

I have noticed lately that my PS2 can't read regular DVD's anymore so I am deciding on getting a DVD Player...

I am huge on backing up a lot of my movies off my computer due to the fact they take up space. I have looked into Philips which seems like the way to go, but which one to get??

I am HUGE on watching Anime Episodes and I am currently backing up my One Piece Library due to the 386 or so Episodes. I heard that you can slap like 30 episodes on a DVDR with a Divx player which is awsome...I also like the fact you can play Episodes off of a USB which is what I am interested in...

I know this probably doesn't say much but I am looking for the best I could get at not a ridiculous price. I am not interested in Blu-Ray. Just regular DVDs. I watch all my stuff on a 13 inch TV...I am not going to buy a new TV because most now are to expensive and to darn big. I went to Costco yesterday and saw like 50 inch TVs everywhere.

So what do you all recommend?? I heard Philips is the way to go but which model there are so many. I am looking for one that supports pretty much everything: AVI/JPEG/MostDivx/WMV/ALL MPEG/etc.

    thanks for your time

Also where could I buy it??

Best Buy? Costco?? Circuit City?? Legit Online Store?? Ebay?

I am looking for a place like Costco because whatever is wrong with it you can take it back within 90 Days for Full Money Back. Costco's return policy rules but on cotsco . com I only found Sony crap.

I also like the fact that the Philips you can play PAL or NTSC Format Videos...which is sweet.

I have read some reviews on Amazon a lot of people are saying that the DVP5992 has issues reading dvd's but the USB works well.

the DVP5990 has better reviews..But I can't make a decision for the life of me. Lip Sync Feature is awsome for the 5992...And I am on a 13 Inch Analog TV...

I have my PS2 plugged into my Dual VCR so I guess I could just unplug and plug what I want when I want to watch a DVD or Play a Game.

I was actually pretty impressed with it for only $40.00.
Converts PAL/NTSC and was easily hacked to remove region code via the remote.

I just burn all my divx/xvid files to dvd+r to watch and use the disc's over.

I picked it up from Walmart but they don't have it listed on their website, they do the previous model, i saw it when i was in there with my son looking for a new one for my bedroom.

If you have any walmarts around or else you could order the previous model.
