    Hi All,

I have a Phillips DVP3232/75 DVD player. Last month I attempted to download an arabic srt file and convert it to sub/idx using subtitle Creator and it worked a treat.

I can't remember the steps i took last time exactly, but this time around i tried it again with a few other movies and it keeps freezing the DVD player! If i delete the Sub/Idx files from the folder it works fine. Funny enough, If i play the avi through VLC and choose the sub file as the subtitle stream, it works fine in VLC.

The only thing I can think of that has changed since the last time i did it was a firmware upgrade to the DVD player.

Any Ideas? I've been going nuts trying to solve it!

Good luck The Philips DVD players sold in North America and Europe, where most of us are from, generally don't support any character sets but Latin and Cyrillic for Divx/Xvid playback, so we'll have no practical experience for you with Arabic.

I thought converting the srt to sub meant the subtitles became graphics so they could be displayed regardless of character sets
