Installing Problems, No file created

OK, I DID MY BEST, NOW YOIR GO, HOPEFULLY...

I DOWNLOADED THE FFMPEG-WHATEVER.
I DOWNLOADED THE OTHER FILES FROM THE LOCATION GIVEN (MENCODER ETC).
I LOCATED THEM ON MY DISC.

I THEN EITHER GET:
AN ERROR MESSAGE "##/bin/sh: line 0: cd: /usr/local/include: No such file or directory"
OR
I UNCLICK ALL THE FILES LISTETBELOWTHE THREE FILES I DOWNLODAED.
THE WINDOW THEN OPENS.
WHEN I THEN TRY TO ENCODE A MOVIE,
THE PROGRESS-WINDOW OPENS, DECLARES CONVERSION FINISHED (IN A FEW SECONDS), BUT THERE IS NO FILE.

PLEASE?

Yelling (posting IN ALL CAPS) is a great way to irritate people, guaranteeing that they'll ignore you.

Keep in mind that people here answer as volunteers. It is not their job to answer questions, especially from rude people.

your answer, i do, and never mind that you might actually know the solution to my problem, i mean, my software problem, keep the secret and, this might be rude, provided you speak kisuaheli, akuna matata kaka!

There are some "netiquette" rules that will help you out in the future:

1) ALL CAPS is the internet equivalent of shouting. That's not just the rule here, it's one of the general social conventions of internet communication. It's good that your recent post has included lower-case characters at last. It looks much more civil.
2) We're not deliberately keeping secrets from you; expressions of paranoia are unlikely to produce a favorable outcome in any case. You need to consider the possibility that the answer to your question might not be known, or that those who know are few in number, and may take some time before they see your question and get around to posting it, or any number of reasons that have nothing to do with deliberate concealment of knowledge.
3) Again, everyone here is generally inclined to help -- that's why these fora exist -- but impolite posters tend to be ignored, here as in the real world. I see that you posted another message that was even more rudely formatted -- all caps, and boldface, too (the combination is the equivalent of screaming). You were chastised by another forum member for that, as well as for the petulant tone of the text. If I go to a foreign country and am told that I have behaved rudely (according to local custom), I endeavor to do better. I don't blame the locals for educating me, and I certainly don't consider them rude for doing so.

thanks. i shall try to adhere to these precepts as best i can.
am am not so sure about my "paranoid" feelings though ... (is that the right smily for: flat joke?)

so, i try the advice i got and hope it works out.

The suggested commands do no modify or delete any files, it just creates a few directories (folders). Those few new directories are pretty harmless to the rest of the system. (The real bugger is why those directories weren't already there, while they were expected to be there.)

Thank you so much, YES, it worked!

I am amazed, not only that id actually did work (no offense intended, I had no doubts about the advice, rather doubted my capacity to understand and perform properly), but also I am amazed by the fast and pleasant support here on http://forum.videohelp.com!

And, yes, it is quite a bummer that these files should have been missing in the first place ... is that probably one of the new features of Leopard?
Anyway, obvious WHY they were missing, and, just because I am paranoid, doesn't mean they're not after us ...
