Can anyone compare/comment ProShow Gold or Memories On TV to DVD slideshow GUI?

I really like DVD slideshow GUI, but my photos display too light. Short story, black shows up as medium-dark gray on my PC and on my TV. I’ve discussed this on the programming forum, but I appear to be the only one who has this problem. Maybe there is some setting that I am just not getting correct. If anyone over here has noticed this & knows how to remedy the situation please let me know.

Otherwise I need a substitute, which would probably be ProShow Gold or Memories On TV.

    Any & all comments appreciated.

Why not just download the free trials of ProShow and Memories On TV and compare them yourself?
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

I was looking for comments from hopefully experienced users. I do plan on trying software as you mentioned, but I don’t know how familiar I will be able to get with a program in 15 days.

I was also hoping to come across someone else that may be able to point out what I could be doing wrong with DVD slideshow GUI as I do like that program.

I don't know about memories on TV, but ProShow is a very simple program that shouldn't take you more than an hour to get very familiar with. That's what I use and have never seen the issues you are describing with it. the pictures I send in look the same as the video that comes out.

You're missing my point - since most people appear not to have the problems you mention you need to try the other programs to see if they give the same result. Use just a couple of photos to make a quick-and-dirty slideshow in all three programs and compare the output.

Maybe the software is fine. Remember, you have brightness and contrast controls on a monitor -- those will alter the displayed image. It's not just a function of software. Different monitor settings will cause different appearance. If you've done what a lot of people do -- crank up the brightness to 11 -- then blacks will not be black. Try backing off on the brightness and see if the displayed image is more to your liking.
