    hi

my client has an ipod and i essentially want to download the music thats on it and save as say a wav file for incorporation into aslideshow and movie.

preumably this is possible but i do not know how to so any advice here would be handy!

Additionally, if it is possible, am i right in saying that this downloading could only be done from the original pc/apple that it was recorded onto in the first place?

You have two problems to overcome

The first is that iPods do not transfer between multiple computers nicely, especially if the owner has taken the default sync modes in iTunes.

Second, if the music has been ripped using iTunes default AAC audio, or downloaded from iTunes as purchased music then it is copy protected via DRM and difficult to convert to other formats.

And that is without considering the copyright issues and the fact that purchasing music through iTunes or on CD does not give you ownership of the music or the right to use it in any other projects.

That said, the simplest way to get it is to get the original owner to burn a copy to CD through their own iTunes, then rip the music from the CD.
