I was wondering this question. Are tv tuner cards ever surveyed in tv ratings???

I don't think so, no. Ratings are only just now starting to consider the DVR/Tivo impact.

When I did the Nielson thing, I counted my TV tuner card as one of my TVs and entered any show I recorded as being watched at that time. I don't remember whether I was instructed to do that or just did it on my own, but I wanted to make sure the shows I recorded were counted.

So the answer to your question are they EVER counted is yes, but probably not with any degree of consistancy.
