When viewing my PAL music videos, they are OK when the picture is static, but when the camera pans from side to side (or there is left-right movement) the movement is basically smooth, but with a cyclic hiccup. In other words, it is not a continual stutter, but just one frame jumps every other second. Does this mean the video is telecined and needs IVTC, or is it something else ?
How can I get rid of these hiccups ??
    Thanks in advance

Did you convert the MPEG2's to DVD on your computer and then put it in your DVD player? It does sound like a IVTC problem.

If I convert xvids to PAL for DVD playback, I get a similar problem. There's a slight jerkiness that you notice particularly when the screen is panning.

How can you have a problem with IVTC when the video is PAL?

I would also say this is a problem with telecine, but only if the very source was NTSC film encoded to PAL.

A good start would be to load the clip into VirtualDub and advance step by step during these scenes. What kind of pattern are you noticing? (A telecine issue would be if you see a repeated frame every 5.)

As well, which playback app are you using? If it's Nero ShowTime, I'm not surprised.
I hate VHS. I always did.
