I have been happily enjoying my Denon 2930CI via HDMI with my 50 inch Samsung Plasma (model PN50A450). However, all of a sudden today, the Denon will NOT send and video over HDMI (audio is sent). No matter what I do no video is sent, where it has for weeks prior. Of course the Denon manual says that if the player thinks the display is not HDCP compliant it will not output video. Any ideas why this has occured? I have tried all the other HDMI inputs on the display as well as other cables. The Denon is handshaking with the display as I can see that on the player display when it figures out the resolution to set (and the HDMI indicator goes steady). Is this a player issue at all? Or a display one....only HDMI connection is affected.

    thanks in advance.

You know I have just experienced the complete OPPOSITE of your situation. Both my motorola hddvr cable box AND my ps3 have somehow stopped sending audio over hdmi to the tv. The darndest thing is the fiber optic output from both units works perfectly.

And I just had it working yesterday where i could use the hdmi for audio and video on to the tv like I have been.

Its comcast cable but how could the ps3 exhibit the same behavior at the same time?

I have yet to swap cables but I hope I don't have to as it's a lot of snaking around behind cabinets that i don't want to do.

I'll try to investigate more when I have some time tomorrow evening. The thing is I don't want to have to have my 5.1 amp on just to watch shows off the food network or the local news. I usually save my amp for movies and concert videos, sometimes games.

    EDIT - it's a westinghouse 32" 1366x768 tv. Had it almost a year now....

Dunno why the Denon just stopped....component is ok for upscaling, but man it is frustrating
