    I can't for the life of me extract an ac3 file from this video here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=f76dqjen

    As soon as I hit start I get this error in my log:
    An error occurred
    Exception message: AVIFileSource: couldn't open file 'C:\Videos\StarCraft-Ghost.avi'
    Stacktrace
    at MeGUI.AviSynthClip..ctor(String func, String arg, AviSynthColorspace forceColorspace, AviSynthScriptEnvironment env)
    at MeGUI.AviSynthAudioEncoder.encode()
    Any ideas?

  2. Do you just want to extract the audio? or encode to something else?

    You can use YAMB, or save the audio in avidemux, or save as .WAV with vdub. (I didn't test your file, I didn't feel like downloading 200MB, but the listed applications work with most .avi)

    I'd like to encode a video basically. The plan was to get Megui to function correctly. I guess if I can't do that though I'll have to go with your suggestion. =)

    Also, since we're on the subject, with the videos I could get to work, do you guys have any idea why the built file is twice the projected filesize that megui tells me?

  4. You encode the video and audio separately in MeGUI, then use the built in tools to mux video & audio, or use an external application like mkvmergegui

    There are some illustrated guides when you look in the MeGUI section, and also on other sites when you do a search.

    I suspect you have an error in your .avs script. Please post your .avs script for the video (FYI, MeGUI has an automated script generator if you are new to avisynth, under it's tools menu)

    Not to dissuade you from learning, but another easier option is xvid4psp (don't let the name fool you it does many, many things)
