You may have tried some of these already, but I have no way of knowing from your post...

Do a search here on this website under DVD Players for this model.

Search on Google for something like "Coby DVD 283 hack" or "Coby DVD 283 multi-region code" (but drop the quotes from your search - they're only in my response to help you know what to search for).

Pray that someone here with the answer (IF there is one) responds to your post.

Note that sometimes manufacturers change the hardware and it breaks hacks that used to work. Note that our very own website here has this:

which specifically lists a hack for a "new 283" which might be what you need.
