I'm trying to use kino on DV from camcorder. The capture works OK (and I can view the resulting file just fine in, say, mplayer). But when I open the DV file for editing, kino plays it back at about 5x normal speed. (That is, I click the 'play' transport control button, and it looks as if it's doing fast-forward instead.) As you can imagine, this makes it impossible to do a reasonable edit.

I understand the 'shuttle' function, by the way. But I can't find any control on kino that allows the playback speed to be adjusted - or any reason why it should be so high.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

RESOLVED: This is a 'known' bug - when Kino can't get exclusive access to the sound-output hardware, it plays the video (silently) at about 5-10x normal speed.
