Hi guys/gals,
i am new to this and hope i don't upset anybody with the questions as you may have heard this hundreds of times. I have film files which i used dvd flick to convert and then imgburn to burn to disk, i got one film to work but stuck every now and then and burned two more and the sound was going super fast to the film. Now if i convert a film from 700mb-900mb using dvd flick it tells me it is around 4 gigs, when i put this into imgburn it tells me the file is to big (way to big) and also has started coming up with a source error. Does anyone know what is wrong or how to fix this or a better conversion and burning program to use. I used nero 7 that came bundled with the pc and had no problem with it and it done everything at the press of one button but part of the program was on trial and then told me to upgrade too nero 8 for a price which seemsed a bit strange (or a con). Pleease help me as i need to get these programs and pictures off my pc as room is running out, all the best my friends, s,bak.![]()

You can try FAVC instead of DVD Flick. Yes, a standard movie (700 - 900 MB Xvid) will take up around 4.3GB when converted to DVD. I am surprised that DVD Flick is going over size if you have it set up correctly, however you lose nothing by trying FAVC anyway.
Imgburn is far superior to Nero for burning DVD Video.Read my blog here.

Thank you for your advise my friend it is most welcome, as you think that these programs are ok and imgburn better than nero i will go through all the settings again just to make sure. I have been converting a few films and the same films a few times and was wondering if any of these files are being dumped together somewhere and imgburn is putting lots of the same folders into the source and this is why the files are to big??? just an idea as i am new???? thanks again friend and have a good one. S,bak.

Just a wild guess, but drop one of those overlarge DVD files, probably the first 1GB VOB, into Gspot or MediaInfo and see what format the audio is. Dolby Digital, DTS, PCM(uncompressed audio), MPEG-1 Layer2 are permitted for a DVD, but PCM files will be very large and that could have caused the overlarge file size.
A AVI file with MP3 VBR audio can also cause problems with some converters. You could check a AVI that converted properly against one that didn't with Gspot also, and it will tell you if one has VBR audio. VBR is very common with Xvid/Divx files off the net.
The problem with the audio speed could be several things, including VBR, but I would also check on the possibility of a bad NTSC>PAL conversion.
I would also go with guns1inger's suggestions.
And welcome to our forums.
