i did an XP upgrade(from ME) on my parents computer. They have DSL that requires a username/password when logging in. i ran a new network connections and selected the option to enter a username/password. Well whenever they click the connect icon, the password is not there. it just says 'click here to enter your password' and i click 'save passsword' after entering the correct password. any idea how to make it save the password?

This is usually entered in the modem itself, as oppossed to the computer. The phone co software is not needed at all and only serves to complicate matters.
The procedure to enter the modem setup software varies by modem model, the DSL co should have info on this. -
well on the tech support pages it says to run the network connections setup and enter the password there. they dont mention anything about a dsl modem to enter the password

Do you have all of the XP patches installed? Either way, it sounds like a registry issue. You might try searching MS for the answer.
