Hi,
Can somebody please point me in the right directions for setting up
a computer system to handle HDD capture / editing and finally
burning onto a Blue Ray disk.
I actually capture and edit a lot of conventional video footage
from a number of different sources Mainly PAL 720 x 576. but
I dont know anything about High Def Video.
So ! if someone can suggest editing software / what capture card,
Win XP or Vista ( Would prefer XP ) and whcih Burner,
I'd certainly appreciate your advice.
thanks
Scott

BlackMagic Intensity Pro (YUY2 capture, software compression)
Hauppauge HD PVR (AVCHD hardware compression)

My source will end up being from a variety of
 HD Cameras.
I already transfer VHS, Beta, Mini DV, MiniDVcam, Hi8 Video 8, Hi 8 digital, VHs-c
U-matic....... and what ever comes my way, but these all live quite happily
 on a Normal DVD player

I'm expecting clients who have HD capable Cameras to want their footage to remain
at the same quality rather than converting back to 720 x 576.

Is Edius a Good program. Does it still require any extra capture card or indeed a High end
 graphics card.

 thanks

The devices I mentioned are for analog sources -- HD component from a cable box, for example. Coming from a camcorder your video is already digital. As long as you have a firewire port and USB 2.0 ports you won't need any additional hardware.
