  1. Hey Guys,

I am searching since hours why my little nice DVD player is playing one avi file perfectly and the other one only with sound without picture.

I dont have a clue and need advice .

They are both XVID files 960x540, 25fps, mp3, 192kps, 44100Hz and playing very well with all the players on the computer

I dont know how to find out what is the difference between these files to fix the problem with the no-picture file.

Do you have any advice ?

    Thanks for your help.

Open both of them in GSpot - what is the difference?
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

  4. Gspot 2.70a
    running file:

  5. open both in mediainfo use view=>text

check for differences. The common culprits are QPEL and GMC will cause incompatibilities with standalone players

  6. Hello Guys,

I fixed the problem, it was only a resolution one.
    Found this in the net:

......supported by the DVD player. DVD players will normally only support up to 720x576 (PAL) and 720x480 (NTSC) resolutions. Even the DVD players that can upscale to.......

I resized with VDub an everything is as it shoud be.

Anyway, thanks for the help to everybody on the probably best site for everything regarding video.

    Greetings from Belgium
