i took a divx.avi file and converted it useing tempeg useing the vcd ntcs template that came with the program .the file went like this Video-CD NTSC (MPEG-1 352x240 29.97fps CBR 1150kbps, Layer-2 44100Hz 224kbps)
and then i burnt it with nero as a vcd.
i used a memorex 4x cd-rw .
my computer is p3 933 with 512 mb ram and os of millenum .i use maxmem to get away from the maxing out of memory when encodeing.
the dvd player only plays cd-rw nothing else. on this site it says the dvd player will play vcd/svcd
but as it plays it is jumpy and very pixally.
when the pic comes in it looks great , but thats only for two or so seconds then pixally and jittery again for a few second.this just continues.
is there something i can do to ajust this.any things i should try to ajust.
even if you can solve it , some directions to head in would be apreciated
thanks for you time and comments

I had problems with VCD's burned to CD-RW's as well. My DVD player would play them all pixellated etc.
On a hunch I followed the exact same processes but burned to a CD-r -and they always turn out perfect!!
Maybe burn to a CD-r instead of a CD-RW to see if it's any better? -
thanks for the reply but this dvd player will only play cd-rw for audio or video.
